We attended the Burke Museum Bug Blast. Activities for the kids included bug design face painting, seeing like a bug through special bug-eye-glasses, variety of bug-related craft projects, watching a transparent beehive, and a live Ant Cam. They even had crispy fried larvae snacks for the adventurous visitors.
