We just switched the most wonderful pediatric dentist, Jeffrey Marks, DDS. He has phenomenal rapport with children. Imagine that, a pediatric dentist that actually has fun with kids, makes them comfortable and even enjoy their appointments! Dane has been terrified at previous appointments. He hates the lights, doesn't like wearing sunglasses, uncomfortable with strange people sticking things in his mouth, etc. Dr. Jeffrey got down to Dane's level, showed him around the room, let him play with instruments, explained procedures and made examining as brief as possible, used a flashlight, let Mom hold him, etc. Maybe there needs to be a kid-approved seal granted by certain rules like the organic stickers on food? For waiting patients or siblings, there is a nice room with a fish tank, books, games, video and a Nintendo game. Our kids experienced their first video game ever here. As you can imagine, they didn't want to leave and can't wait for their next appointments.
