To celebrate Mom's birthday, we took a ferry ride across to Vashon Island and dinner at The Hardware Store. On the way back, we enjoyed the kids, er Lisa's favorite birthday dessert—chocolate mousse cake from Piece of Cake Bakery in Seattle's Chinatown. The Hardware Store is the oldest commercial building on Vashon and has seen a lot of changes since 1875. The historic building is now a site of a restaurant.
