We headed to Spokane for the Washington State Elementary Chess Championships. Brock placed 20th after making it back to table 1 for the second straight year. Maddy played well in her first appearance at state, despite getting over an illness. We stayed next to the fabulous Riverfront Park which had loads of art and greenspace, as well as the Spokane River flowing swiftly over the falls.
