We took an end of the summer trip to eastern Washington. On the way to the Grand Coulee Dam we stopped at Soap Lake and soaked in the mud and water. Soap Lake gets its name from the naturally occurring foam that gives its water a soapy appearance, and because the lake's mineral-rich waters have a slick, soapy feel. At Grand Coulee Dam, we took a tour and later that night watched the laser show. The next day we went tubing down the Wenatchee River in Leavenworth. The weather was a hot 90 degrees, but felt good in the cold mountain river. We floated over a bunch of spawning salmon. Cuzco even got to join us on her own inner tube.
