May 30th, the first of several nights of curfews in Seattle. Police used pepper spray and tear gas on peaceful protestors, which created havoc and sparked looting downtown. Among the many grievous acts by police was where one officer sprayed mace into the face of a 9 year old girl on purpose from a distance of a couple of feet. After more than a week of protesting, the mayor and police chief said there would be a 30 day moratorium on using tear gas. That promise was broken two days later. Incidentally, tear gas is against the Geneva Convention for war tactics, but apparently police around the USA have no issue using it on their own citizens.

60,000 people took to the Seattle streets in a silent march from Judkins Park to Jefferson Park.
CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone) or CHOP (Capitol Hill Occupied Protest), also known as Free Capitol Hill, is an occupation protest and self-declared autonomous zone in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle became a thing on June 8th after the Seattle Police Department (SPD) vacated its East Precinct building after days of protests. The zone covers approximately six city blocks and a park.
