Plaza de Armas is the heart of Cuzco, both in Incan times and today. We spent a very festive Christmas and New Year's Eve at the plaza. The plaza is surrounded by many shops, restaurants, the Cathedral built in 1539, a second church named La Compania built in 1571 and rebuilt a couple of times due to earthquakes. Black Jesus of Earthquakes, Nuestro Señor de los Temblores, was brought out of the church Christmas morning.
