Last year, Brock was celebrated as the Seattle Public Library Northgate Branch winner of the Summer Reading program. The torch gets passed on to Maddy this year! They all assume Dane will win it next year. The Breakfast of Champions took place at the Sheraton hosted by King 5 anchorman Dennis Bounds. He commented that Maddy has the touch of a future politician, similar to what he said about Brock last year. We assume it was because she strode across stage right to him with her hand extended while also greeting him. Our local librarian, Stella, escorted Maddy to the podium. Last year's librarian, Marita, is currently down in Lima, Peru, visiting her relatives that were affected by the recent huge earthquake.

The highlight of the breakfast was comedian Charlie The Noise Guy Williams reading Flush. He is known for his hilarious sound effects. He taught all the kids how to make fly-by jet sounds and chainsaw noises along with disco startup moves.
