We finally made it down to Disneyland! It was our second attempt this Fall. This trip was not without any hitches. Just prior to boarding the plane for our kids first flight, it started to snow. Brock's adrenal gland was swollen, but he felt fine. Once at our destination in Orange County, California, Maddy's throat started to hurt. After a sleepless night for all, Mom took Maddy to a clinic while Papa, Brock and Dane went to the Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace. We discovered that Maddy had strep throat. That night, Dane would have the same symptoms. Fortunately, penicillin for Maddy and Dane acted quickly and we were all able to go to Disneyland on Monday. We were clueless on the huge amount of flooding that took place in western Washington during our time in California.
The Richard Nixon Library and Birthplace was interesting. Loads of exhibits and facts to satiate Brock's obsession with presidents. It also included Nixon's home as a youth, his and the first lady's gravesites, and a retired presidential helicopter.
Disneyland highlights included getting autographs from Goofy, Mickey and Minne Mouse, a roller coaster in Toontown, and the evening parade.
