We all participated in the 1K Run with Elves, for kids 8 and under. It was a chilly 28 degrees when we ran early this morning. The start was a bit premature and chaotic. The event photographer began counting down from 3 to 1 to get people to look up for a group photo; instead, the crowd surged ahead to run the race. Santa was almost trampled a few yards in front of the starting line. It was pretty funny. There were a couple hundred kids involved in the 1K run, with over 11,000 participants total for all the races. A light dusting of snow fell as we arrived back home.
