We spent mid-winter break in Canada to attend the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The Sky Train stations of Gilmore and Brentwood were just a couple blocks from our apartment in Burnaby and provided easy access to downtown Vancouver. We all attended a men's curling event on mom's birthday. The next day mom and papa attended the USA vs. Norway men's hockey game. USA won 6-1 and was attended by Abraham Lincoln and Captain America. It seemed that almost every Canadian was wearing a Team Canada hockey jersey or jacket. The city was definitely in a festive mood with friendly and helpful people everywhere. The weather was sunny and mid-50's all week. Vancouver was experiencing their warmest winter on record. Not great for outdoor events, but made it enjoyable to wandering around the city.
