We took the northern route east through northern Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, and arriving in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. After a couple of days at the kids' great-grandparents log house, we headed down to Oconomowoc where we stayed for the remainder of the trip. The kids caught there first fish with rolled up bread dough as bait. We also listened for loons, caught frogs, rescued a snapping turtle from the road, and fled from hordes of mosquitoes.
Middle Sugarbush Lake near Lac du Flambeau.
The kids caught their first fish (bluegills and pumpkin seeds).
