Santorini

Volcano Facts:

  • Santorini is small group of volcanic islands in Greece.
  • The Greek island Santorini is the remainder of the volcana Thera. It is a caldera filled with water.
  • The island was the site of one of the largest volcanic eruptions of the last several thousand years. It erupted about 3,500 years ago and left a large caldera surrounded by volcanic ash hundreds of feet deep.

Someday, I might become a vulcanologist!
